β¨ The Story of the Wilderness β¨
After His baptism, Jesus went into the wilderness to spend time with God. He fasted for 40 days and nights, which means He didnβt eat any food. Then, the devil came to tempt Him. First, the devil said, βIf you are the Son of God, turn these stones into bread.β But Jesus replied, βMan shall not live by bread alone, but by every word from God.β Next, the devil took Jesus to the top of the temple and said, βJump off! If you are Godβs Son, the angels will catch you.β Jesus said, βIt is written, you shall not test the Lord your God.β Finally, the devil showed Jesus all the kingdoms of the world and said, βI will give all this to you if you worship me.β Jesus said, βGet behind me, Satan! You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only.β Then the devil left, and angels came to care for Jesus.
