When baby Jesus was just a few days old, Mary and Joseph took Him to the temple to dedicate Him to God, as was the custom. At the temple, there was a man named Simeon. God had promised Simeon that he would see the Savior before he died. When Simeon saw baby Jesus, he was filled with joy and said, “This child is the Savior God has sent to bring light to the world!” There was also a woman named Anna, a prophetess, who worshiped at the temple every day. When she saw Jesus, she praised God and told others about Him.
