A long time ago, there was a man named Joseph. He was a kind and good man who loved God. Joseph was engaged to a young woman named Mary. But something amazing happened—Mary was going to have a baby! This baby was not like any other; He was a special gift from God. Joseph didn’t understand this at first, and he worried about what to do. One night, while Joseph was sleeping, an angel from God appeared to him in a dream. The angel said, “Joseph, don’t be afraid to marry Mary. The baby she is carrying is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you must name Him Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” When Joseph woke up, he trusted God and did exactly what the angel told him. He took Mary as his wife and prepared for the arrival of this special baby, Jesus.
